Cameron Green Ends 23-Year Wait for Australia With Historic Darwin Test Century

Cameron Green etched his name into Australian cricket history during the first Test against Bangladesh in Darwin on Sunday, August 16. The all-rounder produced a remarkable century in the second innings at the Marrara Cricket Ground, ending a 23-year wait for an Australian Test hundred at the venue.

Green reached his century from 192 balls, marking his first Test hundred and becoming only the third Australian batter to achieve the feat in Darwin.

Lehmann scored 110 runs, while Waugh remained unbeaten on 100. More than two decades later, Green became the third Australian to reach three figures in a Test at the venue.

Green Registers His Maiden Test Century

The century was also particularly significant for Green personally. The 27-year-old had been waiting for his first Test hundred since making his red-ball debut for Australia against India in December 2020.
