Mohamed Salah has officially joined Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor on a free transfer, bringing an end to his glittering nine-year spell with Liverpool.

The Egyptian forward completed the move after mutually terminating the final year of his Liverpool contract. Salah has signed a two-year deal with Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and will compete in the UEFA Europa League playoffs.

Salah leaves Liverpool as the club’s third-highest all-time goalscorer, having scored 257 goals in 442 appearances across all competitions.

During his time at Anfield, he helped Liverpool win two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, and several other major trophies, collecting seven major honours while establishing himself as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

Warm welcome in Turkey

Salah arrived in Istanbul wearing Trabzonspor colours and received a warm welcome from hundreds of supporters before travelling to Trabzon for his official unveiling.

The move ends months of speculation over his future, with Saudi Pro League clubs strongly linked to the Egyptian following his comments last season. However, Salah opted to remain in European Football by joining the Turkish giants ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
