Mookie Betts shared a heartfelt birthday message for his wife, Brianna, as the Los Angeles Dodgers continue to endure a difficult stretch on the field. Despite the Dodgers suffering their seventh consecutive loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Betts took time to celebrate a special occasion away from baseball.
The six-time Gold Glove winner turned to Instagram to wish Brianna a happy birthday, affectionately calling her his “honey” and promising to treat her to dinner after completing his work commitments.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!!! I LOVE you more than you could ever know! I hope you have a very special day today! As soon as I’m back from work, dinner on me,” Betts wrote.
Mookie Betts and Brianna’s Long-Lasting Relationship
Mookie and Brianna have been together for nearly two decades. Their relationship began when they were teenagers in Nashville, with the couple meeting while Brianna was in seventh grade and Betts was one year ahead of her.
The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Kynlee Ivory, in November 2018. After 15 years together, Betts and Brianna married in December 2021 in a ceremony at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
Their family later expanded with the birth of their first son, Kaj Lynn, in April 2023, followed by their youngest son, Khari Betts.
Mookie Betts Opens Up About MLB Rivalries
While his personal life provided a positive moment, Betts and the Dodgers are dealing with a challenging period during the 2026 MLB season. Los Angeles recently suffered its seventh straight defeat against Arizona.
However, Betts said he no longer allows baseball rivalries to affect him in the same way they did earlier in his career.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Betts explained that he once cared deeply about the rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees, but his perspective has changed with experience.
“At this point in my career, I genuinely don’t care,” Betts said, explaining that he now views baseball more simply as a game.
He also acknowledged that the San Diego Padres could be considered one of the Dodgers’ major rivals today, but insisted that such rivalries no longer bother him.
Mookie Betts’ 2026 Season
Betts has struggled to reach his usual offensive standards this season. He is batting .233 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs across 79 games for the Dodgers.
Despite the difficult campaign and Los Angeles’ recent losing streak, Betts continues to contribute as one of the team’s most recognizable stars while balancing his professional responsibilities with family life.
