WWE Survivor Series 2026 could feature an international showdown as Team USA takes on Team Mexico in a traditional five-on-five elimination match. Rey Mysterio recently revealed that the classic Survivor Series format is returning, adding a major international element to this year’s Premium Live Event.
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, the WWE Hall of Famer and AAA General Manager confirmed that discussions had taken place with WWE officials Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to organise the contest. Although no participants have been officially announced, a potential lineup featuring stars from WWE and AAA could make the match one of the event’s major attractions.
“I had a couple of words with Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, and we are going to put together something very special: A classic five vs. five Survivor Series match at Survivor Series where it will be Team USA vs. Team Mexico,” said Mysterio.
The 40th edition of Survivor Series is scheduled for Saturday, November 28, at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas. With the announcement creating excitement around the event, here are 10 WWE and AAA superstars who could potentially represent the two teams.
Team USA: Five WWE Superstars who could represent the United States
1. Chad Gable
Chad Gable is a natural candidate for Team USA because of his connection with Mexican wrestling and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. His El Grande Americano character played an important role in his transformation into a babyface following the Mask vs. Mask match.
Gable recently lost the Intercontinental Championship to Ethan Page on Monday Night RAW. With the title no longer occupying his immediate schedule, he could be available for a traditional five-on-five elimination contest at Survivor Series.
His familiarity with AAA and his history involving the El Grande Americano character could also add an interesting storyline element to the international matchup.
2. Dragon Lee
Dragon Lee has continued to build momentum and has received prominent television exposure on Monday Night RAW in recent weeks. As a luchador with an established connection to Mexican wrestling, he would be a fitting addition to an international Survivor Series contest.
His involvement could bring a distinctive lucha libre style to Team USA’s lineup. A traditional elimination match would also give Lee an opportunity to showcase his abilities alongside some of WWE’s biggest names.
3. Penta
Penta has been one of Monday Night RAW’s featured performers in 2026. He has defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship on several occasions and previously pushed Roman Reigns to the limit in a challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in Mexico City.
He has also recently captured the WWE Money in the Bank briefcase, placing him in a strong position to pursue a world championship opportunity. His profile and connection to Mexican wrestling make him a potential choice for the Team USA lineup.
Although his Mexican wrestling background could make his inclusion particularly interesting, the proposed contest is expected to represent Team USA against Team Mexico. Penta’s place would therefore depend on how WWE approaches the national identities of its participants.
4. Bronson Reed
Bronson Reed could bring considerable physical strength to Team USA. He began a rivalry with Oba Femi following his return to WWE, but has not been featured regularly on television since losing to Femi at Money in the Bank.
Including Reed in the Survivor Series match could provide an opportunity to rebuild his momentum. His powerful in-ring style would also offer a contrast to the faster, more technically focused performers expected in the contest.
A potential confrontation involving Reed, Bron Breakker and members of Team Mexico could add another physical dimension to the elimination match.
5. Bron Breakker
Bron Breakker is another possible Team USA representative. He came close to winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and currently holds the World Tag Team Championship. However, recent losses have kept him from maintaining the momentum associated with his earlier performances.
A strong showing at Survivor Series could help Breakker regain his position. His explosive offence, particularly his Spear, could make him a major threat in a five-on-five elimination match.
The possibility of Breakker eliminating multiple members of Team Mexico and potentially securing the victory for Team USA would give him a significant moment on the November 28 card.
Team Mexico: Five AAA names who could represent Mexico
6. La Parka
La Parka could be a strong candidate to represent AAA on Team Mexico. He is the reigning AAA Latin American Champion and has been a reliable performer for the promotion over the years.
His championship status and experience would make him a valuable addition to the team. A match against WWE’s leading performers would also provide an opportunity to showcase AAA talent on one of the biggest stages of the wrestling calendar.
7. Daga
Daga has established himself as a recognised name among AAA fans, with his association with Los Perros del Mal helping him connect with the promotion’s audience. His inclusion would also give the faction representation in the proposed international contest.
As an experienced wrestler, Daga could bring valuable in-ring knowledge to Team Mexico. A WWE Premium Live Event appearance would also offer him an opportunity to compete against performers from a different roster and represent AAA in a major match.
8. Omos
Omos has served as one of AAA’s most physically imposing performers in 2026. The former RAW Tag Team Champion has been involved in several notable moments, including a suspension following an incident in which he struck Rey Mysterio during the August 22 episode of AAA on Fox.
His rivalry with Mysterio also includes a scheduled confrontation at TripleMania 34, where Omos’ AAA career was on the line. Those developments have given him a connection to the promotion’s ongoing storylines.
Adding Omos to Team Mexico would create the possibility of major physical encounters with Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Their contrasting size, strength and styles could make those matchups particularly interesting.
9. Dominik Mysterio
Dominik Mysterio is another potential Team Mexico representative, having been AAA’s Mega Champion for much of 2026. He has also become one of the most vocal figures opposing his father Rey Mysterio’s authority, including reports of a backstage confrontation following Rey’s appointment as AAA General Manager.
There is an interesting detail surrounding Dominik’s potential participation: he was born in San Diego, California. That could complicate the national representation aspect of the match, depending on how WWE decides to define eligibility for each team.
Nevertheless, Dominik has established himself as a prominent villain in front of Mexican audiences. His involvement alongside Omos could also create an interesting combination for Team Mexico.
10. El Grande Americano
El Grande Americano could be one of the most important names in the proposed Team Mexico lineup. Ludwig Kaiser’s version of the character has become one of AAA’s most prominent acts, building considerable attention through his performances in the promotion.
Americano won the Rey de Reyes tournament, earning a future opportunity at the AAA Mega Championship. He also defeated Chad Gable in the Mask vs. Mask main event in Monterrey on May 30.
That history would make his inclusion particularly significant. A potential reunion or confrontation with Gable at Survivor Series could bring their existing storyline into the international elimination match.
Given his popularity and recent achievements in AAA, El Grande Americano would be a major addition to Team Mexico if WWE and AAA decide to include him.
Team USA vs. Team Mexico could be a major Survivor Series attraction
Rey Mysterio’s announcement has introduced a different direction for Survivor Series 2026 by bringing back the traditional five-on-five elimination format with an international rivalry at its centre. The proposed match would bring together WWE and AAA performers, creating opportunities for fresh combinations and existing rivalries to continue on a major stage.
The 10 names discussed above are potential participants rather than confirmed selections. WWE and AAA have yet to announce the official members of either team, so the final lineups remain uncertain ahead of the November 28 event at Daikin Park in Houston.
If the match is booked with a mixture of established stars, championship performers and wrestlers with existing connections to both promotions, Team USA versus Team Mexico could become one of the defining attractions of Survivor Series 2026.
