Yaxel Lendeborg’s journey from College Basketball to the NBA has attracted attention after the young forward reportedly turned down a lucrative $9 million Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) offer to continue playing for the Michigan Wolverines. His decision to remain with Michigan preceded his selection as the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and a four-year contract worth approximately $28.1 million with the Golden State Warriors.

Lendeborg has already generated excitement during his debut season with the Warriors, making headlines after scoring a career-high 37 points in a thrilling game. His move to the NBA has also brought renewed interest in his contract, earnings and financial prospects.

Why Yaxel Lendeborg Turned Down a $9 Million NIL Deal

Before entering the NBA, Lendeborg was an important player for the Michigan Wolverines. His performances and growing reputation attracted significant attention, including a reported NIL offer worth $9 million.

Name, Image and Likeness agreements allow college athletes in the United States to earn money through commercial opportunities connected to their identity, endorsements and promotional activities.

Despite the financial appeal of the reported offer, Lendeborg chose to continue playing for Michigan. His decision reflected his commitment to the programme and his desire to continue his college basketball journey rather than pursue the immediate financial opportunity elsewhere.

The decision became an important part of his story as he moved towards professional basketball. His subsequent selection in the NBA Draft gave him an opportunity to begin his career at the highest level of the sport.

Yaxel Lendeborg’s $28.1 Million Contract With the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors selected Lendeborg with the 11th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Following his selection, he signed a four-year contract reportedly worth approximately $28.1 million.

The agreement marks a major financial milestone for the young player, who moved from college basketball to a multimillion-dollar NBA contract after choosing to remain with Michigan instead of accepting the reported $9 million NIL offer.

How Much Does Yaxel Lendeborg Earn With the Warriors?

Lendeborg’s reported four-year contract is valued at approximately $28.1 million. Dividing the total value equally across four seasons gives an average of around $7.025 million per year.

However, this is only a simple average of the reported contract value. It should not be treated as his confirmed annual salary, as the actual payment structure may vary depending on the terms of the agreement.

His contract represents the financial reward associated with being selected in the first round of the NBA Draft and beginning his professional career with the Warriors.

Lendeborg has attracted attention during his first season with Golden State, including a standout performance in which he scored a career-high 37 points.

Yaxel Lendeborg Net Worth: What Is Known?

Lendeborg’s four-year contract worth approximately $28.1 million provides a clear indication of his reported NBA earnings potential. However, his exact net worth has not been established by the information available in the supplied report.

A player’s net worth is different from the total value of a professional contract. It can depend on salary payments received, taxes, expenses, investments, endorsements and other financial commitments.
