Chilling CCTV footage has surfaced showing the moment Aam Aadmi Party–affiliated sarpanch Jarmal Singh was shot and killed during a wedding ceremony at a resort in Amritsar on Sunday.

Footage Captures the Attack

The video shows two unidentified men entering the wedding venue and approaching Singh, who was seated among other guests. One of the assailants suddenly pulled out a firearm and shot the sarpanch in the head from behind.

Singh collapsed immediately as the attackers fled the scene. Wedding guests were left stunned as celebrations instantly turned into chaos.

Eyewitnesses said at least two gunshots were fired before the attackers escaped, triggering panic among those present at the function.

Victim Had Survived Previous Attacks

Singh, a sarpanch from Tarn Taran district, was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. According to Tarn Taran police, he had survived at least three previous attempts on his life.

Investigation Underway

Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagjit Walia confirmed the incident, stating, “The attack took place while the wedding function was in progress. Every aspect of the case is being thoroughly investigated. The attackers will be identified through detailed analysis of the CCTV footage, and strict action will be taken.”

Police have launched a manhunt for the assailants and are examining surveillance footage and other evidence collected from the resort. Security has been tightened across the area as the investigation continues.
