WWE Superstar Gunther has expanded his presence outside the ring by launching his own YouTube channel. The 39-year-old Austrian wrestler is set to give fans a closer look at his life as a professional wrestler, including his experiences on the road.
Gunther has established himself as one of WWE’s most prominent stars in recent years. After moving to SmackDown earlier this summer, the former World Heavyweight Champion quickly became involved in major storylines and has already competed for the WWE Championship.
Gunther launches official YouTube channel
The Austrian star’s YouTube channel was launched on August 13 and had already attracted more than 1,200 subscribers. The channel description identifies it as the official YouTube channel of pro wrestler Walter Hahn.
Gunther’s first episode, titled “Gunther – Life Of A Pro Wrestler,” is scheduled to premiere on August 20. The episode is expected to provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at his life away from the WWE ring and the demands that come with being a professional wrestler.
The launch marks a notable change for Gunther, who has historically maintained a relatively private presence outside WWE programming. While he has gradually become more active on social media, his new YouTube channel could offer fans considerably more insight into his professional and personal journey.
Gunther gives fans a closer look at life outside WWE
Gunther has rarely shared extensive details about his day-to-day life since becoming a major WWE star. His new channel could therefore become an important platform for connecting with fans away from weekly television.
The former Intercontinental Champion had previously hinted at the upcoming project on social media, asking his followers to stay tuned for Thursday. That teaser was followed by the launch of his first YouTube episode.
For a wrestler known primarily for his intense in-ring persona, the channel could also provide an opportunity to show a different side of Gunther. Behind-the-scenes footage, travel experiences and preparation for matches could help fans understand what goes into maintaining a demanding WWE schedule.
Gunther recently defeated Matt Cardona on SmackDown
The YouTube launch comes during an important period in Gunther’s WWE career. Last week on SmackDown, he interrupted Chelsea Green’s emotional segment with Nick Aldis, leading to a confrontation involving Green’s husband, Matt Cardona.
Cardona eventually confronted Gunther in the ring, and the exchange turned physical. Nick Aldis subsequently announced a match between the two WWE Superstars.
Although Cardona put up a strong fight, Gunther ultimately secured the victory by forcing him to submit to a two-legged Boston Crab.
Gunther remains one of SmackDown’s biggest stars
Gunther has also remained heavily involved in major WWE matches. At SummerSlam, he competed on both nights of the event, highlighting his continued importance to the company’s programming.
On Night One, Gunther defeated Nick Aldis before returning to action on Night Two for the WWE Championship Number One Contender Fatal Four-Way match. His recent run has kept him firmly in the title picture while also establishing him as one of SmackDown’s central figures.
With his new YouTube channel now underway, fans will have another way to follow Gunther’s journey. His first episode, “Gunther – Life Of A Pro Wrestler,” could provide a rare behind-the-scenes perspective on the life of one of WWE’s most dominant performers.
