Ajit Doval Meets Vietnam President To Lam to Boost Ties

National Security Adviser Ajit Doval met Vietnamese President To Lam during his recent visit to Vietnam, briefing him on the outcomes of the visit and discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting focused on expanding bilateral cooperation and advancing the India-Vietnam Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Key areas discussed included law enforcement, cybersecurity, maritime interests and economic security.

Discussions Focus on Security and Strategic Cooperation

During the meeting, Doval and President To Lam discussed ways to deepen collaboration across several areas of mutual interest. Law enforcement cooperation, cybersecurity and maritime security featured among the key subjects, alongside measures to strengthen economic security.

The discussions reflected the two countries’ focus on expanding their strategic partnership and addressing shared security and economic priorities.

Ajit Doval Also Meets Vietnam’s Defence and Foreign Affairs Ministers

As part of his visit, Doval also held discussions with Vietnam’s Defence Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister. These engagements provided an opportunity to review areas of cooperation and explore ways to strengthen bilateral ties.

India and Vietnam have been working to expand cooperation under their Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with security, defence and economic engagement forming important parts of the relationship.

India-Vietnam Trade Target Set at USD 25 Billion by 2030

Economic cooperation was another important aspect of the engagement. Both countries are targeting annual bilateral trade of USD 25 billion by 2030, reflecting their efforts to expand commercial ties and strengthen economic engagement.
