During that remarkable innings, Suryavanshi also smashed the fastest fifty in the competition, reaching the milestone in just 11 deliveries.

Despite the growing excitement surrounding Suryavanshi, newly appointed T20I captain Shreyas Iyer declined to reveal whether the youngster will feature in the playing XI, insisting that team combinations would remain confidential until match day.

“He’s a brilliant prodigy, and whenever he gets an opportunity to play, he’ll do brilliantly. We can’t reveal our team combination before the game because it would help the opposition,” Iyer said.
