US President Donald Trump has said the conflict between the United States and Iran could end soon, either through a diplomatic agreement or another American military offensive. In recent remarks, Trump described the US campaign as a major success and warned that Washington was prepared to take further action if Tehran did not agree to a deal.
Speaking to Right Side Broadcasting Network, Trump said the United States would bring the conflict to an end “one way or the other”. His comments came as diplomatic efforts continued alongside discussions about the possibility of renewed military operations.
“We’ve had such a victory, and we’ll put it away very soon, one way or the other,” Trump said.
He added that Iran could either reach an agreement with Washington or face another American offensive, suggesting that further military action could bring the conflict to a conclusion.
“Either they’ll make a deal, or we’ll just end it. End it I guess you could say maybe the easy way,” the US president added.
Trump Warns Iran Could Face Another US Military Offensive
Trump has repeatedly suggested that the conflict could end soon, while keeping the possibility of further military action open. His latest remarks indicate that Washington is continuing to pursue both diplomatic and military options.
During a campaign rally in Iowa, Trump said he had so far held back from taking further action because he wanted to avoid additional casualties. However, he warned that the United States might eventually have to intensify its response against Tehran.
“And the only reason why I’m not finished with Iran is I want to be nice. I want to try and save all those lives if I can… But at some point we’re going to have to give them the hammer,” Trump told supporters.
The remarks came ahead of the November 3 US midterm elections. Trump did not provide a specific timeline for ending the conflict or explain what further military action might involve.
Trump Confirms ‘Very Good Talk’ With Netanyahu on Iran
Trump also confirmed that he had held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing it as a “very good talk”. The US president acknowledged that Iran was among the subjects discussed but declined to share further details.
However, a report by Axios offered a different account of the discussion, suggesting that the two leaders had differing preferences over the next steps in the conflict.
According to Axios, Netanyahu urged Trump to consider an imminent military strike against Iran, while the US president wanted to give diplomatic negotiations more time to succeed. The report, citing American and Israeli sources familiar with the conversation, described the exchange as direct and difficult.
The reported difference highlights the challenge facing Washington as it balances pressure from its Israeli ally with efforts to explore a negotiated outcome with Tehran.
US Keeps Diplomatic and Military Options Open
Trump’s latest statements reflect a strategy in which diplomatic negotiations continue alongside preparations for possible military action. While he has expressed confidence that the conflict could end soon, he has not ruled out another offensive if an agreement cannot be reached.
The reported disagreement with Netanyahu also points to different approaches within the US-Israel partnership over the timing of any further military operation. Trump has indicated that he wants to give diplomacy an opportunity, while Axios reported that Netanyahu favoured a more immediate military response.
For now, the US president has not announced a final decision on whether Washington will pursue a diplomatic settlement or resume large-scale military action. His latest remarks leave both possibilities open as negotiations and regional security discussions continue.
