Kotwali Model Police Station Sub-Inspector Ruhul Amin said police used the token to trace the victim’s identity through the cooperative credit union.

After contacting the organization, investigators were able to establish who the man was. His wife, Sumita Rani Sutradhar, and his son, Joy Sutradhar, subsequently confirmed the identification.

The discovery of the token provided investigators with an important lead at a time when the victim’s body had been found without the circumstances of his death immediately being known.
